About the event
Ayurveda is a natural system of medicine, originated in India more than 3,000 years ago. It is the science system of yoga that observes how food and lifestyle affects or enhance our health, and can also be called the yoga of healing.
Ayurvedic yoga is a customized yoga class to balance your doshas, or body constitution, according to the seasons of the year. In Sanskrit the word “dosha” means “that which becomes imbalanced”.
Through yoga postures, breathing and meditation exercises you will enhance your mental state and physical body, and bring balance to your nervous, immune and digestive systems.
The general structure of the class is: first, you will discover your dosha or body constitution by answering a short questionnaire, then we will engage in yoga postures, breathing exercises and meditations, and at the end there will be a short Q&A so you can integrate the material and ask questions.
It is open to individuals with or without yoga experience looking for balance (mental, physical, and emotional).
This Ayurvedic Yoga class is connected to Meditation in Motion, a 3 hour moving experience from stillness into exquisite motion. $22 per person. Teacher: Dyhanna Garcia
