About the event
Meditation in Motion (MIM) is a 3 hour introductory moving experience from stillness into exquisite motion. This is a gentle yet invigorating, immersive, mindful-movement workshop to give you plenty of time to relax and de-stress from any challenges you may have been facing. MIM - Summer is a mini-retreat focused on the SUMMER season and the elements of fire and water according to Ayurveda, a natural system of medicine, originated in India more than 3,000 years ago.
The focus during Summer is in letting go and cooling down to bring our life back to balance. It is open to individuals with or without movement experience who miss moving and being active because of their busy lives, and also for those who love to move, dance and discover new things about themselves. Healthy and tasty lunch will be provided as mindful eating is also part of the experience.
The general structure of this MIM immersive workshop starts with basic meditation and breathing techniques to relax, followed by gentle yoga asana practice to warm up, which leads into easy to follow self and group movement explorations to reconnect with yourself and with others. $108 per person.
Facilitated by Dhyana Garcia MFA, AWC, a mindful movement specialist, embodiment activist and performer of Mexican origin.
